Kenny Standhardt – Ceramic
Categories:
Born in 1961, Kenny grew up on a working Pennsylvania Dutch farm 40 miles northwest of Philadelphia, PA. He spent most of his childhood outside in nature. When not working the farm, he spent hours constructing dams at the creek, building forts in the woods and hunting arrowheads in the fields after heavy summer thunderstorms. Around the age of thirteen, Kenny met the potter he would eventually apprentice under at a local craft show and convinced his father to help him build a kick wheel. Kenny worked in clay ever since. Over the next twenty two years, Kenny developed a specialized type of folk pottery he calls, Church Key Pottery. Continuously exploring, Kenny has developed dozens of distinct patterns over the past three decades.
