Phil Wright – Oil Painting

Phil spent most of his life working in business after obtaining a B. S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University and an M.B.A. from Indiana University. Painting has been a passion since his undergraduate days, although his career in business consumed much of his time. Inspired by the beauty found outdoors, Phil frequently paints en plein air. While some paintings are completed in the field, others are considered studies that allow him later develop a painting completed at his studio. Plein air studies provide him with an essential understanding of light, value and color relationships found in nature.
